About Me

Hi, y'all! My name is Kristen. I am sixth year teacher at small Catholic school around Lafayette, LA. This year will be my second year in Second Grade. I have also taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade. This year I begin my first year as a Teacher Mentor for early elementary at our school. I, also, began working on my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Instructional Coaching this past summer. I hope to continue on after earning this degree to work on my Reading Specialist certificate.

At home, I am the wife to a hard-working, generous, and rather handsome man. We have two beautiful, vivacious little girls named Amélie and Eleanor. They are the center of our world, and they know it!

Watching their little personalities grow and evolve over the past 3.5 years has been the most amazing thing that I have ever witnessed. They truly are astonishing and amaze me on a daily basis through their discoveries and connections made.

My biggest teaching goal is to make deep, meaningful connections with each of my students. I strive for "my kiddos" to leave my classroom each year knowing that they are so loved.  I aim for each of my lessons to be connected to their everyday lives, connected to literature, and integrated with technology. School should be a memorable experience, and I work to perfect that experience every school year!

I have a deep love for curriculum development and educational research. Collaborating with other educators is something I am extremely passionate about. I LOVE exchanging ideas and resources and growing professionally alongside my peers. It is that wonderful feeling that I get when collaborating that brought me to pursue my Masters degree in hopes that I can someday be an Instructional Coach or something along those lines.

Thank you for stopping by, and I surely hope that you come by again! I look forward to continuing to share my educational musings with all of you.
